1. OVERVIEW
At Tony Tech Solutions, we prioritize the integrity of your hardware and software. However, the nature of computer repair involves inherent risks to data. This document outlines your rights and responsibilities regarding the data stored on devices submitted for service.
2. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
It is the customer's sole responsibility to back up all software and data on their device's hard disk drive or internal memory before submitting the device for repair. Tony Tech Solutions is not responsible for any loss of data, personal files, or software that may occur during the diagnostic or repair process.
3. DATA PRIVACY DURING BACKUP
If you opt for our Data Backup Service, our technicians are granted permission to access specific files solely for the purpose of transfer and preservation.
- Access Limit: We only access the specific directories requested (e.g., "Documents," "Pictures").
- No Viewing: We do not open, view, or analyze the content of individual files unless necessary to verify the integrity of the backup.
4. UNFORESEEN DATA FAILURE
While we take every precaution, some devices may arrive with pre-existing hard drive failure or file system corruption that makes data recovery impossible. In such cases:
- We will stop work and notify you immediately.
- Accepting the Backup Policy does not guarantee that corrupted data can be saved, only that we will attempt to save accessible data.
